Is Recover's CPA actually cheaper?

Meta CPA is spend divided by Meta-reported results (implied from cost per result in the export). Shopify cost is product spend divided by first-time customers whose first order contained that product. Incremental cost removes the Recover first-time customers that arrived with zero Recover spend in Baseline.

Whole store: net sales vs total ad spend, per day

Shopify net sales (bars) and Meta plus Google ad spend (line)

The zoomed-out view. Net sales come from the Shopify daily tab; spend is the Meta account total plus Google Ads. The Recover and Enhance charts below zoom in on one product each.

Spend share

Meta spend tagged to each product, from Sep 13 through the last full day, the same window as the charts above. Google Ads is not product-tagged and is left out.

Spend share vs revenue share, same window

Revenue is Shopify line revenue by product over the same days. A product taking more spend share than revenue share is being funded ahead of what it sells.

Reconciliation and caveats

Campaign breakdown vs account total, Meta spend

Gap – on –
Meta spend with no product in campaign, ad set or ad name

– of breakdown spend
Orders in Shopify daily tab vs line-item export
– vs –
Store totals use the daily tab; product splits use the export
  • Product tag is read from the ad set name first, then campaign, then ad name, so older ad sets like "RECOVER | ..." inside an ENHANCE campaign count as Recover.
  • Meta results are implied from cost per result; the export does not carry the attribution window or the result event, so in-platform CPA may differ.
  • Shopify units include every Recover sale (organic, email, cross-sell), not only ad-driven ones. That is why incremental cost is shown beside the raw figure.
  • New customer means the first order seen for that email in the export. Refunded and voided lines are excluded. The latest day in the data is left out as partial.
